China North Industries Corporation (Norinco) has conducted trials of its VU-T10 extra-large armoured tracked unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

中国北方工业公司（Norinco）对其VU-T10超大型装甲履带式无人地面车辆（UGV）进行了试验。

 

Footage posted by Norinco on its official social media channel on 20 July showcased several ground-based and aerial combat systems including the VU-T10 UGV. In the footage, the UGV was seen firing 30 mm rounds from its primary cannon. Norinco did not elaborate on the results of the trial.

The VU-T10 consists of a tracked platform and a remote control station on a command-and-control vehicle. Janes estimates that the UGV has a length of 3.8 m, a width of 2.4 m, a height of 2 m, and weighs approximately 12,000 kg. It is equipped with a 30 mm cannon, a 7.62 mm co-axial machine gun, and an anti-tank guided missile launcher.

Other systems displayed in the Norinco footage included the company's Machine Wolf quadrupedal UGV, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), laser counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UASs), air-defence missiles, and artillery rounds. It also included howitzers and multiple rocket launchers (MRLs), striking targets identified by UAVs.

北方工业公司视频中展示的其他系统包括该公司的机械狼（Machine Wolf）四足无人地面车辆、无人机、激光对抗无人机系统、防空导弹和炮弹。它还包括榴弹炮和多管火箭炮（MRL），用于打击无人机识别的目标。

 

State-owned Global Times reported that the footage is a demonstration of China's “complete system in unmanned warfare equipment”, with a focus on manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) operations. MUM-T enables conventional defence equipment to strike targets at longer distances with enhanced accuracy, Global Times added.

官方《环球时报》报道称，这段视频展示了中国“完整的无人作战装备体系”，重点展示了有人-无人协同（MUM-T）作战。《环球时报》补充称，MUM-T使常规防御装备能够以更高的精度打击更远距离的目标。

 

“Following the shifting focus of military technologies to informatisation, intelligentisation, unmanned equipment and systematic development, as well as the changes in the form of modern warfare, Norinco Group [has] devoted more resources into the field of ground-domain drones, aerial drones [UAVs] and anti-drone [C-UAV] technologies with new concepts and new methods of intelligent, network-centric distributed combat,” Global Times said, citing a Norinco spokesperson.

《环球时报》援引中国北方工业集团发言人的话称：“随着军事技术重心转向信息化、智能化、无人装备和系统化发展，以及现代战争形态的变化，北方工业集团已将更多资源投入地面无人机、空中无人机[无人机]和反无人机[C-UAV]技术领域，采用智能网络中心分布式作战的新理念和新方法。”
